Grand Marshall Conventual Baliff Doug Symons OAM, JP, GCSJ, OMSJ, CMSJ has passed away in the early hours of Thursday 24 July 2008.

He was Appointed as Prior when the Commanderie of South Australia was raised to Priory status on 11 April, 1992, then, in 2001, he was elected as Grand Marshall of the Order.

H.E. Bailiff Edward A. Rich, GCSJ, MMSJ, has been voted on to the Petit Consiel and has resigned as Prior of New South Wales. Chevalier Fred Maestrelli KCSJ appointed as the Prior of New South Wales.

The Grand Master on 1 September 2006 created two Grand Priories; Southern Australia and Northern Australia. The Grand Priory of Southern Australia is H.E. Bailiff Victor J Techritz, AM, GCSJ.

To Commemorate the visit to Australia of the Grand Master two wines have been especially blended and bottled. The Commemorative wines will have a special commemorative label and make an ideal gift for family, friends and business acquaintances.
